11h : Martin Ziegler
(U. Freiburg), Model theory of right-angled
buildings.
To every right-angled Coxeter G group belongs a unique countable
Tits building B(G) with infinite residues. Using a suitable language, we
study the first order theory of B(G). It has a nice axiomatization, is
omega-stable, equational and has trivial forking. It is not n-ample,
when n is the number of generators of G. (Joint work with A. Baudisch
and A. Martín Pizarro)
14h15 : Chris Daw
(IHES), Degrees of strongly special
subvarieties and the André-Oort
conjecture.
We give a new proof of the André-Oort conjecture under the generalised Riemann hypothesis. In fact, we generalise the strategy pioneered by Edixhoven, and implemented by Klingler and Yafaev, to all special subvarieties. Thus, we remove ergodic theory from the proof of Klingler, Ullmo and Yafaev and replace it with tools from algebraic geometry. Our key ingredient is a lower bound for the degrees of strongly special subvarieties coming from Prasad's volume formula for S-arithmetic quotients of semisimple groups.
16h : Artem Chernikov (Paris
7), Some applications of model theory to
geometric Ramsey theory.
In a series of papers by Alon, Conlon, Fox, Gromov, Naor, Pach, Pinchasi, Radoičić, Sharir, Sudakov, Lafforgue, Suk and others it is demonstrated that families of graphs with the edge relation given by a semialgebraic relation of bounded complexity satisfy much stronger regularity properties than arbitrary graphs, and can be decomposed into very homogeneous semialgebraic pieces modulo a small mistake (for example the incidence relation between points and lines on the real plane, or higher dimensional analogues). We show that in fact the whole theory can be developed for families of graphs whose edge relation is uniformly definable in a structure satisfying a certain model theoretic property called distality, with respect to arbitrary generically stable measures rather than just the counting ones. Moreover, distality characterizes these strong regularity properties. This applies in particular to definable graphs in all o-minimal and weakly o-minimal theories, and in p-adics.

9h15 : Pierre Simon (Lyon
14 h : Immanuel Halupczok (Leeds), Obtaining bi-Lipschitz stratifications using valued fields.
(Work in progress, together with Yimu Yin)
One tool to describe singularities of (e.g. algebraic or analytic) subsets X of
R^n or C^n are stratifications: a partition of X into finitely many strata
such that any two points x, y in X within the same stratum have the same type of
neighbourhood. The most classical stratifications are Whitney stratifications,
which classify neighbourhoods up to homeomorphism. The strongest known
stratifications are Mostowski's bi-Lipschitz stratifications, which classify
neighbourhoods up to a bi-Lipschitz map. I will present a new way of obtaining
such bi-Lipschitz stratifications, by working in a suitable valued field (a
non-standard model of R or C). Up to recently, the existence of bi-Lipschitz
stratifications was only known for sub-analytic sets. Our method works for
definable sets in arbitrary polyinomially bounded o-minimal expansions of R,
i.e. in particular for quasi-analytic sets. (A similar result has also been
announced by Valette.)

(Polytechnique), Manin-Mumford dynamique
16h : Boris Zilber
(Oxford), Geometric dualities and model
theory.
Geometries can be given in a direct semantic way, say as a complex or real manifold, or more abstractly, by
their co-ordinate algebras and schemes. A duality of this kind becomes highly non-trivial in cases of schemes of arithmetic
type and for non-commutative co-ordinate algebras. I will discuss these issues from model-theoretic perspective. A detailed
analysis will be given to the canonical commutation relation(s) underlying quantum mechanics. Some applications will be
presented.

Résumé
14h15 : Pablo Cubides-Kovacsics (Lille I), Definable types in ACVF.
Given a pair of models K\prec L of a first-order theory T, the pair is said to be
stable if the following property holds: all types over K which are realized in
L are definable. Marker and Steinhorn characterized stable pairs of models
of o-minimal theories as pairs K \prec L where K is Dedekind complete in L. In
this talk we provide a characterization of stable pairs of algebraically closed
valued fields K \prec L. To get a
flavor of the topic, different examples will be
discussed and a brief introduction to some model-theoretic aspects of stable
pairs will be given. This is a joint work with Françoise Delon.

(Passau), Lebesgue measure and integration
theory on arbitrary real closed fields
We establish for the category of semialgebraic sets and functions on arbitrary real closed
fields a full Lebesgue measure and integration theory such that the main results from the classical setting
hold. The construction involves methods from model theory, o-minimal geometry, valuation theory and
the theory of ordered abelian groups. We set up the construction in such a way that it is uniquely
determined by data that can be formulated completely in terms of the given real closed field. We apply
our integration theory to questions on semialgebraic geometry and analysis in the non-standard setting
and also to questions on parameterized integrals on the reals.

(Attention au changement de date). Orateurs
14h15 : Arno Fehm (Konstanz), On the existential theory of equicharacteristic henselian valued fields
The first order theory of a henselian valued field of residue characteristic zero is well-understood through the celebrated Ax-Kochen-Ershov principle, which states that it is completely determined by the theory of the residue field and the theory of the value group. For henselian valued fields of positive residue characteristic, no such general principle is known. I will report on joint work with Will Anscombe in which we study (parts of) the theory of equicharacteristic henselian valued fields and prove an Ax-Kochen-Ershov principle for existential (and slightly more general) sentences. I will also discuss applications to the definability of henselian valuation rings and to the existential decidability (Hilbert's tenth problem) of the local field F_q((t)), which was proven by Denef and Schoutens assuming resolution of singularities.
16h : Daniel Palacin
(Munster), Around the Canonical Base
Property
The canonical base property (CBP) is a property of finite rank theories, which was introduced by Pillay and whose formulation was motivated by results of Campana in complex geometry. The main feature of such a property is that it provides a dichotomy for types of rank one, and in consequence one can reproduce Hrushovski's proof of Mordell-Lang for function fields in characteristic zero with considerable simplifications.
In this talk, I will motivate (via Mordell-Lang) the statement of the CBP and describe some results around the CBP, in particular on definable groups.

10h30 : Pierre
On pense souvent à
